Here at Bryn Mawr Rehab, we care for over 600 patients recovering from strokes every year. Patient outcomes and satisfaction are consistently high, and we are accredited by both The Joint Commission (gold standard for nursing care) and CARF, Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.

This includes training in fully equipped kitchens and simulated living areas to practice the fundamental skills used every day at home. Additionally, many of our inpatients transition to outpatient therapy, and have the ability to participate in a stroke support group. Bryn Mawr Rehab also offers many additional amenities including a horticulture therapy center, and free on-campus accommodations for family members who reside outside of the area.

Armeo Spring

The Armeo Spring is the most widely used arm and hand rehabilitation exoskeleton. It has a range of abilities, and can enable independent arm and hand training for moderately to severely impaired patients. It’s ergonomic exoskeleton enables functional and self-initiated movement therapy, while an extensive 3D workspace supports simultaneous arm and hand therapy. The Armeo Spring can also provide assessments, creating objective analyses and documentation of patient progress.

Lokomat

The Lokomat is a body weight supported robotic treadmill system that helps patients learn to walk again by stimulating the central nervous system. This technology is proven to reduce a patient’s recovery time in contrast to conventional therapy alone. Offered at only a handful of medical facilities in the nation, the Lokomat is a perfect complement to the array of comprehensive therapy services offered at Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital.

Bioness Vector

This device is designed to accelerate the physical rehabilitation of patients with balance impairment – including patients with Brain Injuries, Spinal Cord Disorders, Strokes, Amputations, Parkinson’s Disease, and Orthopedic Injuries. On average, we care for upwards of 2,255 patients each year with these conditions. The patient is harnessed to a trolley tracking system on the ceiling and practices walking on an actual floor surface. This enables the rehabilitative team to increase patient mobility while reducing the risk of injury.
